Boaters beware! Without accurate navigation based on updated nautical charts, one might end up on a reef. Yes, even at Put-in-Bay. From time to time, boaters unfamiliar with the safe approach to Put-in-Bay harbor will drive their vessels through what appears to be a short-cut on the west side of Gibraltar Island. Sadly, many have found themselves on the hard and with significant hull or motor damage. Please use caution when approaching Put-in-Bay harbor! Mind the “red-right-on-return” safety rubric for buoy navigation, and respect the N0 Wake zone, too.
NOAA provides an online nautical chart for safety.
