Panther Volleyball Takes Care of Business

“Taking Care of Business” was this afternoon’s theme at the last home game of the season for Panther Volleyball.  The student cheering section dressed for the occasion as Macy Ladd and Lilian Frederick, high school seniors, were recognized for their excellent sportsmanship.

Panthers roll in 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-14) over NW Ohio Classics Academy.  Seniors Macy Ladd and Lilian Frederick have had outstanding seasons.  Macy and Lilian peaked at the right time and have been tremendous together this season.  Macy is a great all-around player who gets a lot of digs to target; LIlian has been finishing the plays with power.

Coach Schuffenecker is proud of the two girls.  He says, “You always hope your seniors maximize their potential their senior season and these two girls play above my expectations.  They have been extraordinary this season.”

Lilian finished the game with 14 kills and 8 aces while Macy had 9 aces and two kills.  She had a storybook finish to her last game at the Jim Poulos recreation center.  Up 24-14, Macy came up to the line and fired an ace to win the match.

It was an emotional moment in the gym.  The girls celebrated the win and it moves the record to 8 wins and 5 losses on the year.

The Panthers are happy with the win, but tomorrow morning they need to refocus for a tough road game at Waite.  Just two weeks ago the Panthers lost a tough four-set match.   The game can be viewed on the school YouTube page at 6 pm.

Coach Shuffenecker expresses sincere congratulations to the team and thanks everyone who cheered to get our growl on!
