Molly Kearney Returns to Put-in-Bay for One-Night-Only Comedy Show

Put-in-Bay is set to welcome back one of its own this June as comedian Molly Kearney headlines a stand-up show at The Boathouse Bar on Monday, June 9, part of the island’s PRIDE celebration.

Kearney, who made history as the first openly nonbinary cast member on Saturday Night Live, spent over a decade working on the island before landing roles on national television, including the upcoming CBS comedy DMV. In a recent interview on The Jeremiah Show, they reflected on their deep ties to Put-in-Bay:

“I was at Put-in-Bay from 18 ‘til like 31,” Kearney said. “I was working like six days a week at The Forge or the Boardwalk or The Goat, depending which year it was… I was a pedicab driver, cave tour guide — I worked everywhere and shockingly have not got fired from one place.”

Their return to the island comes not as a bartender or tour guide, but as a headliner. The show runs 4–6 PM at The Boathouse, tickets are $20 at the door, and seating is first come, first served. This is a 21+ only event.

A Day of Color and Celebration

The comedy show is part of a full day of PRIDE events on the island:

  • Colorful 5K – 10 AM, Behind the Round House

  • Island Scavenger Hunt – 1–3 PM, Finish at Mojito Bay

  • Drag Show at the Round House – 9 PM

With a stacked schedule and a homegrown headliner returning to the mic, PRIDE 2025 is set to be one to remember.
