Fri-Yay Fundraiser: Help Bring a K-9 Unit to Put-in-Bay Tonight
Put-in-Bay residents and visitors have another chance to rally together tonight at the Fri-Yay Fundraiser at Erie Islands Petroleum (441 Langram Road). The event runs Friday, September 26, from 6–8 PM, with proceeds going toward bringing a K-9 Unit to the Put-in-Bay Police Department.
This is part of a growing community effort to fund the island’s first-ever police K-9 officer. Earlier this summer, supporters packed the “Weenies & Tinies” fundraiser at the Dog House at the Round House Bar, showing how much momentum there is behind the project. Tonight’s event builds on that energy, giving everyone a chance to contribute once again.
Guests can enjoy hot dogs, pizza, and soft-serve ice cream while supporting the cause. Food prices are set at $3 for hot dogs, $4 per slice of pizza, and $6 per quart of ice cream. Cash and check donations will be accepted on-site, and credit card donations can be made online at givebutter.com/JMBUgD.
Organizers say every dollar raised brings the island closer to adding a dedicated K-9 officer to the PIB Police Department — enhancing safety and strengthening the connection between officers and the community.
Come out tonight, grab a bite, and show your support — together, we can help bring a K-9 hero to Put-in-Bay.
