From Gene Zajac, South Bass Island:

Comet Lovejoy is a long-period comet discovered in November 2011 by Australian amateur astronomer Terry Lovejoy.  The comet is very near the constellation Orion. It is moving North in the sky towards Taurus. To find it now, locate Orion. The brightest star is the lower right star of Orion to the right of the sword. It is Rigel. Following Orion is the brightest star called Sirius in Canis Major. Connect Sirius to Rigel and continue northward about a quarter of the distance between those stars. The direction is SE early in the evening to South by 11pm. Great viewing position. It has a tail to be seen with binoculars.
