Even as the short-term forecast has air temperature increasing to nearly 50°F by the end of this week, island-eyes are on water temperature trends.

Fortunately, NOAA provides resources which aid in determining when “good ice” is on the horizon for Lake Erie ice fishing.  The Marblehead, Ohio, station data is one such feature useful for tracking water temperature trends around the Bass Islands.
