Rain Holds Off for Put-in-Bay Pomp and Circumstance

L-R: Hill, Market, Kostura, Domer, Ontko, Poe

Put-in-Bay High School Commencement exercises at Perry’s Monument proceeded on schedule Friday evening, in spite of afternoon showers, strong wind, and heavily overcast skies.  This year’s graduation class included only two students, Kathryn Olivia Byrnes and Jacob Dillon King.

Superintendent Steve Poe and the Put-in-Bay School Board presided over the event.  Ms. Barbara Rowles, Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial Superintendent welcomed all, and Ms. Christine Ontko was the keynote speaker.

Ms. Byrnes delivered the valedictory address, Ms. Gay Pippert led Grades 5-8 Choir singing “Friends of the Bay” and “Put-in-Bay School Alma Mater.”  Mr. Poe, Mr. Domer, and honored guests delivered multiple scholarship announcements.
