A United States Army Medevac helicopter from Company C 2nd 104th, stationed in Parkersburg, West Virginia, descended on Put-in-Bay Airport (3W2) during the early afternoon of 9 April 2014. Pilot Commander McClure and three other crewmen were completing aviation training on a sunny, blue-sky day. Their mission is rescuing and providing air medical care to wounded soldiers and civilians. All four gentlemen expressed appreciation for the support and hospitality shown by citizens of South Bass Island.
