Numerous spectators witnessed another grand performance of sports car racing at Put-in-Bay Airport (3w2) on Tuesday. Perfect summer weather, excellent programming, and serious competition provided a fantastic arena for the continuing tribute to motor sports history on South Bass Island. Islander Annie Parker sang the National Anthem and the Put-in-Bay American Legion provided the honor guard. Carl Goodwin, Road Race historian, was on hand, and the Baystormers Biplane did a thrilling fly-by!
And a “shout-out” to the original owner of Put-in-Bay Daily’s all-time favorite automobile: the classic MGB-GT!
