Goodyear Blimp to Fly Over Put-in-Bay During Rubber Duck Weekend

One of the world’s most recognizable aircraft is expected to make an appearance over one of the world’s most recognizable attractions this weekend on Put-in-Bay.

The iconic Goodyear Blimp is scheduled to fly over South Bass Island on Sunday, July 12, during the final day of the World’s Largest Rubber Duck visit, creating a memorable sight above Perry’s Victory & International Peace Memorial.

The appearance is being coordinated alongside the World’s Largest Rubber Duck event, giving visitors the chance to experience two iconic attractions together in one unforgettable day.

The 65-foot-tall World’s Largest Rubber Duck will be on display throughout the weekend, Friday through Sunday, July 10–12, at the event site across from the Put-in-Bay Airport. Families can stop by for photos, games, merchandise, and activities as thousands of visitors are expected to attend.

The blimp flyover adds another highlight to what is shaping up to be one of the busiest weekends of the summer. In addition to the Rubber Duck, Put-in-Bay will also welcome hundreds of visitors for Jeep Fest Weekend and the Put-in-Bay Soccer Tournament, creating an exciting atmosphere across the island.

While blimp operations are always subject to weather and flight conditions, organizers are looking forward to what could become one of the most photographed moments of the weekend.

The World’s Largest Rubber Duck is being brought to Put-in-Bay through the efforts of The Perry Group, the official friends group supporting Perry’s Victory & International Peace Memorial. The nonprofit continues to support educational programming, special events, preservation efforts, and visitor experiences throughout the year.

Members Invited to Friday Evening Cocktail Party

The Perry Group will also host a members-only cocktail party at the World’s Largest Rubber Duck on Friday, July 10, at 7 p.m.

Not a member? There’s still time to join. To celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, new single and family memberships are currently 50% off, and those who join are welcome to attend Friday night’s special event.

Whether you’re coming for the duck, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Goodyear Blimp overhead, or enjoying one of the island’s biggest weekends of the year, Put-in-Bay is the place to be.
