“Get Out of Town!”

“Get Out of Town!” is a favorite idiom used to express excitement, surprise, or disbelief.  However, at Put-in-Bay it also denotes the opportunity to embrace the features of island terra firma from South Bass Island Lighthouse to Scheef East Point Nature Preserve.  This array includes a spacious State Park, cliff views along West Shore, multiple vineyards, numerous nature trails on conservation land, and fascinating architectural landmarks like the old school building on Thompson Road.

Island Transportation offers the most fun and cost effective ways to “get out of town!”

The Tour Train is a one-hour narrated historical tour around 80% of the island with various stops along the route. You can choose to stay on the train for the duration of the tour or you can choose to hop off and on at our attraction drop off points along the way. Since trains come through these stops every 30 minutes, you can take your time exploring the many attractions Put-In-Bay has to offer.

Passengers have stop off privileges at these great attractions:

  • Perry’s Cave Family Fun Center
    Heineman Winery & Crystal Cave
Perry’s Victory & International Peace Memorial
Lake Erie Island Nature & Wildlife Center
    Doller Mansion & Put-in-Bay Winery

Island Bike and Golf Cart Rental provides convenient locations at the downtown Jet Express dock and the Miller Boat Line Lime Kiln Dock (at the top of the hill).  Competitive rates, special island attraction discounts, and reliable equipment guarantee a fun and pleasant “out of town” experience.
