Miller Ferry is a “Go” for 2014

Cheerful islanders beamed at the prospect of being on the first ferry trip to the mainland, on Sunday, 6 April 2014.  Captains and crew on hand also expressed satisfaction at being able to resume operations after an unusually severe winter.  Bill and Sue Latham were the first in line and expressed their gratitude with a resounding, “Hallelujah!”  Maggie Beckford, Director of the Put-in-Bay Chamber of Commerce, and joined by two friends, put it this way, “I’ve been waiting a lifetime for this!”  And Captain Billy Market proudly proclaimed, “Let’s roll!”

Miller Boat Line runs an abbreviated schedule today, with departures from the Lime Kiln Dock at 9-10-11 am & 2-3-4-5 pm, and returns from Catawba 1/2 hour later.  The regular, printed schedule of transit begins tomorrow, Monday, 7 April 2014, for Put-in-Bay, and on Thursday, 10 April 2014, for Middle Bass Island.
