The Put-in-Bay School basketball players, in the first set of contests for the 2016-2017 season, won both the girls’ and boys’ games against the challenging players of Mackinac Island Lakers. The ladies took the first game with a score of 22-20. The gentlemen earned victory with a score of 47-29.
Put-in-Bay Radio televised the athletic event via Internet streaming, and Tipper’s Restaurant provided a convenient and cheerful venue for islanders who did not make the trip to Michigan. Thanks go to wpib.com, broadcaster Patrick Myers, and the respective schools for making the excitement available to a wide audience.
Kudos to Joe Foutts, Put-in-Bay Arts Council Director, for his diligent efforts in keeping the live stream going at Tipper’s.
As night fell on Put-in-Bay, and the streets emptied on Mackinac Island after their Christmas tree lighting ceremony, the tension increased–the fans were not to be disappointed!
