Put–in–Bay Township Park District has been able to safeguard and protect forested areas, wetlands, and grass lands which are disappearing to development at an
alarming rate. With public support, the Park District complements commercial and residential development with areas of green — natural areas that preserve the treasures of the Lake Erie Islands.
The Township Park District Annual Report for 2022 highlights preserved and protected areas on Middle Bass Island and South Bass Island. Also identified are property donations from the Black Swamp Conservancy to the Park District.
