- Learn more about Lake Erie by exploring its rich history and experiencing science up close at the Aquatic Visitors Center. 2024 tours begin on Wednesday, 14 June.
- Lake Erie Islands Historical Society Museum has many rotating exhibits as well as established exhibits on island history. These will captivate middle and high school students who appreciate the perspective historical artifacts generate.
- Perry’s Cave Family Fun Center remains the “cat’s meow” with mini-golf, a maze, gemstone mining, Butterfly House, antique car museum, and the remarkable 208 feet long by 165 feet wide cave fifty-two feet below the island surface. View stalactites, stalagmites and cave pearls
- The Nature and Wildlife Center is a must-see place for the budding environmentalist in the family! Exhibits and programs focus on the flora, fauna, and lands of Lake Erie’s Bass Islands.

- Chocolate Cafe, between Perry’s Cave and the Village on Catawba Avenue, is the perfect afternoon stop for ice cream or chocolate confection.
- Superb walking trails and interesting environments await at the nature trails, the South Bass Island Lighthouse, and–of course–Perry’s Monument, where children will experience a gull’s-eye view of Lake Erie!
