Cross-Country Runners Prepare for the Miller Boat Line 5K:  Coach Leah Goodwin and our cross-country runners have been putting in the miles on South Bass Island. Their hard work and perseverance will be on full display at the annual Miller Boat Line 5K on Saturday, September 21st. We encourage everyone to come out and support our runners as they compete in this exciting event!

Historic Drone Delivery by Student Cody Kowalski:  We are thrilled to announce a historic first for Put-in-Bay School! Cody Kowalski, one of our very own students, participated in the first unmanned aircraft delivery to South Bass Island. After undergoing training to become a drone pilot this summer, Cody successfully completed his course with a drone flight from Port Clinton to the South Bass Island lighthouse. The drone delivered a box of Dum-Dum suckers donated by the factory in Bryan, Ohio. This event, a collaboration between our school and various sponsors, marks the beginning of an ongoing joint adventure. Plans are in the works to commemorate this groundbreaking event with a historical marker at the lighthouse.

Important Reminders for the Start of the School Year:  As we welcome students back to school on August 27th, we ask parents to adhere to the following guidelines for drop-off and pick-up:

1. No parking or waiting on the sidewalk (ball field side of Concord)
2. No parking behind cars in the parking lot
3. No parking across the street on Catawba (heading to State Park)

All drop-offs and pick-ups will take place along Catawba Ave. heading into town. For students walking or riding their bikes to school, the corner of Concord and Catawba will be monitored by crossing guards, school faculty, and/or local police or the Sheriff’s department to ensure a safe crossing.

Teacher Work Days:  Please note that teacher workdays are scheduled for August 23rd and 26th. We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to a fantastic start to the new school year!
