“Uncivilized” Visits Put-in-Bay

Russell Krock, the 2021 Lake Erie Solo Challenge winner from Granville, Ohio, aims for another victory aboard his Dufour 45, Uncivilized.  This year’s solo event begins on 10 August 2024.

This past weekend, Russ brought the boat to Put-in-Bay as part of an early shakedown cruise.  Uncivilized is a 44+ foot racer/cruiser with twin helm wheels and an ominous 70′ mast.

The images below reveal what it’s like to “go aloft to clear a jammed halyard,” said Russ.  He added, “It was good to see the mooring balls in the water, to have breakfast at Frosty’s, and to prepare for another great year at The Bay!”
