Water Supply in Good Condition at Put-in-Bay

Put-in-Bay Mayor Ruth Scarpelli assures village residents and visitors that Put-in-Bay’s water treatment facility is producing safe drinking water with no signs of any Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB) in test results. Village Administrator Doug Knauer released a statement this morning confirming no HABs have been found at the treatment facility’s supply inlet. The village will continue to monitor the water supply under the strict guidelines of the EPA. The Village, which recently doubled the capacity of its filtration system, is reducing the capacity to ensure even greater filtration of the water supply. Despite the reduction in capacity, Mr. Knauer said the Village does not anticipate any interruption in service.
