The 9th Annual Draft Day 5k will take place on the historic island of Put-in-Bay, Ohio, on 30 April 2023.  Whether you like to run or walk, make plans to enter one of the races and then celebrate the NFL draft with Lake Erie Islands Browns Backers!

Browns Backers 5k

Every participant will receive an Official Draft Day 5k Jersey, Draft Day 5k reusable tote bag, free lunch, and drink discounts! This event benefits the Lake Erie Islands Browns Backers charities.

Your support of this race is greatly appreciated as proceeds from the race will go directly to the Lake Erie Islands Browns Backers for their 2023 charities.  In the past years the LEIBB donated money to local, regional and national foundations and charities including the: St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Food Pantry, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Discretionary Fund, Ottawa County “Kids for Christmas” which will put food on the table and a present under the tree for local area families in need, “Red Nose Day” to end child poverty, Lake Erie Islands Nature Camp, Put-in-Bay Arts Council, Cleveland Browns Foundation, and five Put-in-Bay High School scholarships.  The scholarships included the Gustav Heineman Scholarship, Ricky Dysert Scholarship, Jer-Bear Scholarship, Jeff Verhoff Scholarship, and two $1500 scholarships from the Lake Erie Islands Browns Backers.  The LEIBB is a non-profit organization established in 2001.

Virtual Race Information:

A Virtual 5K (or any other virtual race) is a race that you choose to complete wherever and whenever you would like. You can walk, run, or use a treadmill. The beauty of a virtual race is that you can run the race at your pace at your convenience.

*    It is not required to report your time.  If reporting your virtual race time, you must contact us within two days after the actual race.  You will not be eligible for any awards and your time will not be listed with the other participants.

**  You do not attend the actual race.  If you wish to attend the race after registering, notify the race day registration table that you were signed up for a virtual race.

Lake Erie Islands Browns Backers is a nonprofit organization that will endeavor to promote fun, fellowship, friendship and good will among members and local community by:

  1. Raising funds for local charitable organizations within the area served by the Club in addition to the Cleveland Browns Foundation;
  2. Attending designated establishment(s) for viewing of regular and post-season Cleveland Browns games;
  3. Attending special Browns/BBW – endorsed functions as well as individual club meetings;
  4. Encouraging a family-oriented atmosphere while welcoming Browns fans of all ages, from all areas and orientations;
  5. Promoting positive player and fan relationships.
