Central Ohio Symphony Brass and Percussion Ensemble to Perform for Put-In-Bay Freedom Concert

Central Ohio SymphonyThe Central Ohio Symphony will bring a new program to the Freedom Concert on Sunday, July 5th at 6 PM, at Perry’s Victory and Peace Memorial Visitor Center.  This event is sponsored by the Put-in-Bay Arts Council in partnership with the Put-in-Bay Chamber of Commerce and the National Park Service.

TCentral Ohio Symphonyhis year the Symphony’s brass and percussion ensemble will be featured in a program of wide musical variety. The Symphony Brass, a group of 18 brass and percussion musicians, will perform classics and patriotic music.

Music Director Morales-Matos, a noted trombonist,Central Ohio Symphony will both lead and perform as soloist with the ensemble. In the event of rain, the concert will move inside.  Music will include: Fanfare from La Peri, Overture to HMS Pinafore, Russian Sailors’ Dance, Hoagy Carmichael’s Stardust, America the Beautiful, Latino, and more. The concert is free of charge. The Park Service will provide limited seating, so consider bringing  a lawn chair or a blanket on which to sit.


Dance Collective Performs at Perry’s Visitor Center

The Put-in-Bay Arts Council was pleased to present the SMAG Dance Collective as part of “Arts on Erie Week” held at the Perry Monument Visitor’s Center.  Artistic Director Michael Groomes and beautiful dancers performed two uplifting and entertaining sets on Thursday evening.  Funded in part by the Ohio Arts Council and local charitable members of PiBArts, SMAG offers a vibrant display of contemporary fusion dance appropriate for all ages.  Special thanks to Perry’s Visitor’s Center staff for providing after-hours arrangements.Smag Dance PiBArts
