Put-in-Bay EMS Manager Moving On

A farewell party for Put-in-Bay EMS Manager Pat Rogers is on Wednesday, 18 August 2021, from 5-8pm.  The event takes place at the Put-in-Bay Fire Rescue Squad truckDepartment.

For the past six years Patrick has touched many lives.  He has helped many island residents and visitors receive appropriate medical attention.  He also has contributed major improvements to PiB EMS.

At the end of August, Pat will move to a new position in Columbus, Ohio. His paramedic and leadership skills will be missed. Please join us in a farewell at the Put-in-Bay Volunteer Fire Department.  A main course and beverages will be provided; bring a side dish if you like.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Minimum Qualifications 
  • One (1) year experience as a EMT- Basic or Intermediate
  • Current certification in CPR
  • Possession and maintenance of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and an acceptable driving record.
JOB DESCRIPTION: 
Work duties include but are not limited to: Providing emergency medical assistance and advanced life support in conjunction with an M.D., D.O., or physician advisory board; assists with the operation of advanced life support equipment; assesses vital signs; controls bleeding; assists childbirth; immobilizes fractures; communicates with patients, families and other emergency personnel to conduct rescue operations; maintains radio communications with hospitals; transports patients to medical facilities; prepares and submits reports and records of treatment, nature of problem and patient identification to hospital personnel. Tests and maintains equipment and instruments for proper operation; inventories and restocks drugs and medical supplies; maintains inventory of medical supplies and medications; inspects and cleans ambulances; maintains station.
