Its Ullr time! On Jan. 1st, from approx 4-6pm we will doing our best to help bring ice to the islands!!! Come one, come all and help us cheer on a good Winter. We will be between the Boardwalk and A Dock on the beach and at sunset will be sacrificing “something” to appease Ullr, the Norwegian God of ice and snow. We will have a keg of adult beverage, something hot for the kids, hot dogs and hot soup for all! We do ask that you bring a non-perishable food item for the food pantry on the island. The picture posted is from circa 1933, when the islands were experiencing an “open” Winter. The sign says, “Weeping Wiile, found on Lake Erie, Caused Open Winter.”
