Put-in-Bay Road Race Reunion Rocks!
Race and exhibition cars arrived on South Bass Island yesterday, and all drivers met for a 9am mandatory “Island Rules of Engagement” meeting this morning at the Fan Zone Tent provided by the Put-in-Bay Chamber of Commerce. Practice and qualifying sessions filled the day’s schedule, in spite of a brief rain shower. An event cars parade around the former street course is on tap for 5:30pm, and it will be followed by Rocker Cover Races at The Goat Soup & Whiskey Tavern on Catawba Avenue.
Opening ceremonies, featuring Put-in-Bay American Legion Post 542 Honor Guard, as well as B-25 “Georgie’s Girl” fly-over, will commence at 1pm on Tuesday, 29 August. American Modern Insurance and Lake Erie Shores & Islands are title sponsors.
