Fresh Air Greets Door Chalkers

Rev. Mary Staley and members of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Put-in-Bay, ventured into the frigid day to celebrate Epiphany and complete Chalking of the Doors. A warm and welcoming reception, including dinner, was enjoyed at Amy and Peter Huston’s home afterwards. The letters C M B come from the traditional (9th century) names for the “three kings”–Caspar, Melchior, and Balthazar. The letters may also suggest, “Christus Mansionem Benedicat,” which means “May Christ bless this dwelling!”
