School News – June 2024

Congratulations to the graduates of 2024. This year’s graduation ceremony was held at the Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial on Thursday, May 23rd. Addressing this year’s graduating class was Ms. Dee Kosec, Dee is Put-in-Bay’s Special Education Director. Her speech about overcoming obstacles in life gave our seniors some tools to navigate their future.
Graduates of the Class of 2024 have ambitious plans after graduation: Joe Blumensaadt and Hope Cooks will attend Ohio University. El Kostura and Lyla Steidl will attend Cleveland State. Elora Hubner will attend Stautzenberger College, and Emil Michael will attend The Ohio State University.
Juniors Geoffrey Lucke and Elias Wright will represent Put-in-Bay School at the annual Buckeye Boys State program. Buckeyes Boy’s State is sponsored by the American Legion Post #542 We have one sophomore participating in the HOBY (Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Program) this summer. HOBY will take place on the campus of Ohio Northern University. Cody Kowalski will participate in activities that develop leadership skills. These skills can then be utilized at Put-in-Bay School and our community. The Put-in-Bay school staff would like to thank all the students and parents for a successful 2023-24 school year and look forward to the 2024-25 school year.
The first day of school for the 2024-25 year will be August 27 th , 2024.
Graduation was a memorable one. We would like to thank the staff at the Perry Victory and International Peace Memorial for providing the beautiful venue for this event. We would also like to thank our scholarship donors:
