American Pickers Looking for Put-in-Bay Collectors Ahead of Ohio Return
Have something unusual tucked away on Put-in-Bay?
The team behind the History Channel’s American Pickers is looking for collectors throughout Ohio as the hit television series prepares to return to the state this October.
Producers are currently looking for leads from across Ohio, including the Put-in-Bay area, as they search for unique private collections and interesting people to feature on the show.
The series plans to film episodes throughout Ohio, Indiana and Michigan in October 2026.
What American Pickers Is Looking For
American Pickers explores the world of antique “picking,” following experienced pickers as they travel the country searching for valuable antiques, forgotten relics and historically significant items.
But the people and stories behind the collections are just as important as the items themselves.
Producers say they are looking for unusual, rare or unique collections, especially items the Pickers may have never seen before and collections with an interesting story behind them.
Potential finds can include:
- Motorcycles and scooters
- Old signs and advertising
- Vintage toys
- Oil and gas station items
- Pedal cars and bicycles
- Early furniture
- Vending machines
- Pinball machines and jukeboxes
- Folk art
- Military items
- Taxidermy
- Other unusual collections
The show is especially interested in historically significant or rare items, memorable characters and collections with fascinating stories.
Could American Pickers Come to Put-in-Bay?
There is no confirmed Put-in-Bay filming location at this time.
Instead, producers are currently searching for leads throughout Ohio and are encouraging collectors in the Put-in-Bay area to submit their collections for consideration.
If the right collection and story are found, the submission could potentially lead to a visit from the American Pickers team during its October filming schedule.
Private Collections Only
There are several important restrictions for anyone interested in being considered.
The Pickers only visit private collections.
They do not pick stores, flea markets, malls, auction businesses, museums or anything open to the public.
Collectors should also be ready to sell if selected.
Anyone interested should include:
- Full name
- City and state
- Phone number
- Location of the collection
- A brief description of the items
- Photos of the collection
